Among the industries that serve the construction complex, first of all, it is necessary to mention heavy machinery, whose enterprises produce almost 2 thousand Machines, mechanisms, equipment for industrial, housing, road construction, land reclamation, communal services, as well as mining and production of building materials, among them are excavators, bulldozers, rollers, pipelayers, construction cranes, etc. This industry originated in Ukraine in the 20s. The second most important industry serving the complex is design and research. There are more than 300 such organizations on the territory of Ukraine. Without production of this industry - design and estimate documentation - construction is impossible.

The place that the construction industry occupies in the national economic complex emphasizes its special importance. It is construction that ensures the further social and economic development of Ukraine, which is now of great importance in the world economy. Ukraine has all the objective prerequisites to become one of the developed construction states of the world. After all, today the share of construction enterprises is 6.6% of the total number of enterprises in the country, that is about 73,093 registered companies. It ranks third in gross public product and occupies about 17% of all workers in material production. In the construction process, 25% of all industrial production used in the field of material production, about 20% of rolled ferrous metals, more than 30% of wood and products of the glass industry are used annually. Construction materials make up a fifth of freight transportation by rail.
